That’s No Moon!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is just over two weeks away, and people are ecstatic over its release. One guy has decided to take it up a notch, with a new first order Tie Fighter from the force awakens, and turned the toy into a working drone. [link]

How Did He Make It?

ajw61185 began breaking the tie fighter down to its components, and then installed a quadcopter motor with 3D-printed mounts. Some next level stuff right there! a star wars flying tie fighter Each wing of the Tie Fighter has a set of two propellers (they spin around horizontally) which is controlled via a remote. The propellers spin perfectly through cut out slits made in the front & back of the wings. The result: a perfect model Tie Fighter! a star wars flying tie fighter

It’s Not Just Tie Fighters

This isn’t the first time someone has done something like this. Back in March 2015, Olivier_C created his own Star Destroyer! Here’s hoping a Death Star is made in time for Star Wars: Rogue One.
Star wars: The Force Awakens will be released in December on the 17th, UK, and the 18th, USA.
