After much rumour and speculation regarding the future of Elder Scrolls Online, Bethesda and Zenimax Online Studios have dropped a bombshell. The next expansion for the game will be The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind and will allow fans to revisit the iconic setting of Vvardenfell, 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls III. Bethesda promises that Morrowind is the largest landmass addition to the massively multiplayer online game yet.
Along with new Dwemer and Daedric environments to explore, the expansion will feature a new player class called the Warden. Wielding ‘nature-based magic’ and backed by a powerful War Bear, the Warden definitely sounds like someone you don’t want to cross. Featuring new trial and PvP modes, it sound like plenty of fun for fans to look forward to.
From the official announcement page on the Elder Scrolls Online website:
"The fate of Morrowind hangs in the balance and you must take up the mantle of a hero to help Vivec, the legendary warrior-poet and Guardian of Vvardenfell, save the world from a deadly Daedric threat. Set roughly 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, ESO's new Chapter takes you to familiar locations as you attempt to solve the mystery of Vivec's mysterious illness and restore his strength. Travel from the volcanic Ashlands to the mushroom-filled forests, and walk the streets of Vivec City, still under construction at this point in time."
